2nd International Conference on Geographies of Education

We are delighted to invite you to the 2nd International Conference on Geographies of Education to be held at Loughborough University, UK 10-11th September 2012.
Over the past decade geographers with diverse philosophical and methodological orientations, and with varied areal specialisms, have exhibited a growing interest in education. This second international conference on geographies of education at Loughborough University responds to the diversity of this interest in spaces of education within geography and cognate disciplines. Drawing together scholars from different research traditions, and focusing on elements of both the formal primary/secondary/further/higher education systems and informal learning environments, it seeks to provide a space in which we can debate key themes and concepts in the production, consumption and impact of education, learning and knowledge in multiple social, cultural, economic and political contexts. To do this the conference is organised around three key intersecting themes:

• Education, Cities and States


• Student-Centred Geographies of Education
