5th APISA Congress: Regional Integration in Asia and Europe in the 21st Century

Regional integration is believed to bring about economic prosperity and political stability. Although there have been several cases of regional integration in modern history, policy makers in Asia and other parts of the world frequently consider the European Union a role model. In recent years, there have been numerous discussions about the necessity of further regional integration in Asia with reference to the European experience. The Fifth APISA Congress shall contribute to this debate by offering scholars and other intellectuals from Europe and Asia a platform to share their knowledge and ideas. The Congress seeks to address a variety of issues related to regional integration and to explore adequate responses to current and future challenges of Asian and European integration.
