Cartography and Geographical Knowledge in the Public Sphere

On the occasion of the 32nd International Geographical Congress to be held at Cologne, Germany, the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography, in collaboration with the International Geographical Union Commission on the History of Geography, organises the international Pre-Congress "Cartography and Geographical Knowledge in the Public Sphere".
The Pre-Congress Paper Sessions will be held on August 22, 2012 at the Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography located at Leipzig. The Field Trip will take place from August 21 to August 26, 2012 and includes visits to Leipzig, Gotha, Eisenach and the Rhine Gorge, among other locations, with a final rail ride to Cologne.
