The Role of Music in Radio Broadcasting in Wartime and in Conflict Situations

Since the advent of the mass medium radio, scholars from various
disciplines have investigated both the positive and negative potential
of radio broadcasting in conflict situations and in wartime, including
as a channel of information warfare. The role of music in radio
broadcasting in these contexts has however only rarely been addressed.
This interdisciplinary conference aims to promote a global, historical
and and comparative approach to this issue, and we are most thankful for
having received outstanding abstracts of scholars in the fields of
musicology, history, law, political science, social and cultural
anthropology, sociology and other relevant disciplines.More information:
