Chinese teachers for British students

Are Our Kids Tough Enough? Is the title of a BBC documentary which gives an insight into the everyday school life of Chinese children by inviting their teachers to the Bohunt High School in Hampshire, England, for one month. After this period of time the British students will be tested for their exam-performance and compared to another school class. The Chinese teachers who are used to no-talking, no-question-asking and obeying pupils were surprised by the behavior of the Brits. One of them reported that “some of the students were eating and some were even putting on their makeup when I walked in”. On the other hand the teachers called the British students very individual, realistic and humorous. The experiment does not just apply on the school lessons but on the complete daily routine by starting the schoolday at 7 a.m., ending at 7 p.m., doing morning exercises in front of a Chinese flag and doing eye exercises during breaks.
