Critical novel banned from U.S School

A High School in Illinois removed the book “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” from the curriculum due to the protests by some of the children’s parents. They criticize extremely vulgar described sexual acts and get supported by the local school principle. After this incident a campaign of human rights groups joined the debate and called this action a discrimination by government officials. To alter the curriculum because of a handful individual objections is an unjustified step and shows a lack of respect of others families’ beliefs who did not argue against the novel. There are suggestions like offering the parents a freedom of choice between different books. Currently, discussions of this kind are sparking in several other schools all around the United States.
