Distance learning course on inclusion and school – applications now accepted

Everyone should have control over their own social participation. No one should be isolated or excluded. This represents inclusion. Specifically, in terms of the education sector, it means a school for all and combined lessons for children with disabilities and those without.

Implementing this requirement presents both teachers and pupils with new challenges. First and foremost successful inclusion requires teachers who possess the relevant skills in the area of inclusive education, can design lessons to incorporate the needs of all and who can establish cooperative and supportive working relationships with third parties.

The distance learning course ‘Inklusion und Schule’ (Inclusion and School) at the Zentrum für Fernstudien und Universitäre Weiterbildung (ZFUW) in Koblenz is attempting to close the gap between the material traditionally taught on teacher training courses and current teaching practice.

The requirements for admission are an academic degree that qualifies as a professional certification and pertinent professional experience. However, experienced practitioners without the relevant academic qualification may be admitted if they pass an entrance test.

Applications for the upcoming winter semester will be accepted until 15 September 2018.
