Media Awareness Network

Media Awareness Network (MNet) is a Canadian non-profit organization that works since 1996 on the development of media literacy and digital literacy programs. The basic premise behind MNet is "to help young people understand how the media work, how the media may affect their lifestyle choices and the extent to which they, as consumers and citizens, are being well informed." The "For Teachers" area includes lesson plans to help teach young people about body image, movies, music, and other topics depicted in the media. Teachers can also learn about the importance of teaching media literacy, and also search for lessons by grade and subject. The site also includes blogs and links to information about their special initiatives.
