Reference: Open Science from the point of view of technology assessment (TATuP)

Open science promises a completely new way of scientific publication and work. The movement’s goal is to reduce the barriers between science and society and to facilitate more efficient research. Digitisation measures are planned which aim  to open up research data and methods and to make these processes accessible from an early stage (TATuP 1-2/2017, Vohland/Göbel: S.19).

With its newest edition titled ‘Open Science – zwischen Hype und Disruption’ (Open Science: Between Hype and Disruption) 1-2/2017 (in German only at this time), the journal 'Technikfolgenabschätzung – Theorie und Praxis’ - TATuP (Journal for Technology Assessment in Theory and Practice) has released free and open-access articles on the subject of Open Science from the point of view of technology assessment.

TATuP has been running for 25 years. It is published by the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) and includes, in addition to scientific articles, a range of news, reviews, project and conference reports as well as offering a forum for discussions. ITAS considers its journal to be the principle publications channel for the interdisciplinary field of technology assessment and is directed at interested members of the public as well as at experts in the field.

The latest edition discusses exemplary trends in open science such as open access, open peer-review and citizen science or responsible research and innovation (RRI).
