Textbook Check - Analysis of High School History Textbooks

TextbookCheck.com is a page-by-page analysis of high school history textbooks—with a current focus on U.S. history. It will provide scholars with sections of a high school-level history textbook (typically 10-15 pages in length), appropriate to said scholar’s area(s) of expertise. The scholar will then be expected to read through the section and provide “Responses” to statements made or inferred in the text that are either (1) inaccurate, biased, or erroneous, or (2) especially well-written and appropriate. Some sections may call for many Responses (10-15), others relatively few (1-5). The scholar is encouraged to provide a list of one or two titles for further reading on the subject of each Response.
