The history of philosophical ideas in animated short films

The Open University produces a series of animated films named History Of Ideas which is explaining some of the big philosophical questions of our age. Actress Gillian Anderson and The Simpsons star Harry Shearer complement the films with their voices. It offers listeners and viewers introductions to topics ranging from beauty and freedom to technology and morality by text, speech, animation and video. By considering the numerous perspectives of lawyers, philosophers, neuroscientists, theologians and others, the series provides several views of an idea. Each week four thinkers will discuss one specific question which is available on the BBC website.
