The role of education in an african peace, social integration and security

According to current reports the number of incidences of social conflicts, peace and security instabilities is increasing in many places. A continent particularly hit by several riots is Africa. For this reason Dar es Salaam City hosted the African Leaders Forum which brought together four former presidents for the discussion: “Meeting the Challenges of Africa’s Transformation”. Main issue of this conference was the importance of education. They debated about the causes for conflicts and how education can contribute to building a culture of peace. In conclusion, each one agreed to focus on investing in quality basic education.
