The Ups and Downs of the U.S. higher education expenses

Most public universities and colleges in the U.S.A. are funded by federal investments. As a result of the latest recession which led to cuts of the governmental expenses for higher education many students and families are struggling with increased college costs. On the other hand these high costs are decreasing slowly and led to a plus of 4.1% within the last year. According to the Grapevine report the percentages range from a cut of 43% in North Dakota to an increase of educational expenses of 27% in Arizona. But the authors of the report optimistically predict a very slight recovery of the overall situation and ask for patience in this process.
