United Arab Emirates: Textbook by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid

The head of the United Arab Emirates’ (VAE) government, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wrote and published the textbook “Flashes of Thought” which he included to the school curriculum of the eighth grade of middle schools.

The author of the textbook intends to impart the values of the education ministry to its readers and students. Furthermore, while covering important parts of the country’s history, he seeks to teach and preserve a national identity.

“Flashes of Thought” is based on human and civilizational knowledge and experiences of Mohammed bin Rashid and on information obtained through 36 questions that the Sheikh answered during a governmental Summit in 2013.
