Commons Education Select Committee against patchy holocaust education

The British „Commons education select committee“ published a report about the necessity of teaching the holocaust to schoolchildren and the circumstances to do so. The fact that the freedom of schools to choose the status Academy rather than Schools is problematic concerning the holocaust education because it allows them to determine its importance on their own. This freedom might end in a countrywide “patchy” knowledge about the genocide which is considered to be a help to understand the dangers of prejudice, bigotry and intolerance. Furthermore the committee pushes the Department of Education to support the organizations that provide training to the teachers to guarantee that every young person is able to learn about the holocaust.
