Decreasing humanitarian aids for worldwide education
The “Overseas Development Institute “ published a report about the decreasing educational conditions of 80 million children in 28 countries hit by emergencies as natural disasters, conflicts and health crises. It shows that just about 1.4 percent of all humanitarian funds were invested in the education of those crisis-stressed countries in 2015. Despite the fact that receiving an education during emergencies is protecting the children from exploitation and poverty the humanitarian aids for education have halved since 2010. Tom Fletcher, a global strategy advisor at Theirworld, describes it as “shocking, in the face of the immense cost of not investing today”. UNICEF and further supporters are calling on world leaders to increase the funds in order to make aworldwide education possible.
