HarvardX is the non-profit online offer of the Harvard University that allows non-members to partake in specially built MOOCs (Massive Open Online Course). It was founded in cooperation with the MIT (Massachusetts Institute for Technology) in 2012. Among series about astronomy, computer science, geography, history, literature or neuroscience the website recently opened courses about the five big world religions, taught by six scholars. The programs start with introductions, go on with religious literacy and finish with social and historical context and how to understand the specific religion in general.
