Study about internet access in developing nations

Mozilla and the association of mobile operators GSMA published a study named “Mobile for Development Impact: Approaches to local content creation: Realising the smartphone opportunity”. The mobile connectivity in developing nations is the focus of this report which found three key aspects for a successful access to the internet. Firstly, a general increase of the digital literacy is a requirement. Secondly, the right tools to create content and finally the right training in order to use the necessary toolset. People from all around the world don’t just use the websites of the big companies; they need local content which is hard to create without the knowledge. Furthermore the study revealed that nearly half of the worlds’ population is online – but, nevertheless, entire languages and cultures are not included.
