The dangerous lack of education

After first successful steps in releasing children from armed forces the UNICEF has to face another problem with children in war-weakened countries: the lack of education. Since research shows that low education levels are highly related to poor health and high mortality risks the aid organizations are about to introduce new methods to achieve a better education. Countries that suffer from war, bombings or other ongoing threats or are not able to send their young students to school in a regular way. Due to this drawback the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) recently released a report about how to deliver education to the children in Conflict Affected and Fragile Environments, named “CAFE”. As an approach to this problem the USAID develops mobile phone based content delivery, Internet-enabled computer labs or a low-tech solution of interactive radio instruction.
