UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)

The UNESCO and the Government of Japan organized and held the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). From November 4th to 8th they presented the progresses of this UN decade in terms of ESD and reviewed it. Initiatives, actors and ideas stimulated by this development got introduced and celebrated. The role of ESD for the transition to green economies and societies was considered as well as its potential to apply it in global, regional, national and local ranges. Another intention of reviewing the successful implementations of the Decade at the Conference was to boost the development of strategies for ESD activities in sustainable agendas in the next years.
