Historical Climatology. Past and Future

Historical climatology came to life about fifty years ago. Currently,
this research field is being studied by a few historians as well as
geographers and it is subdivided into three parts:

1) Into the reconstruction of past climates on the basis of direct and
indirect information from written sources (in particular,
reconstructions of temperature and precipitation series from proxy
information). In this aspect, historical climatology is a subfield of
paleoclimatology;
2) into historical climate impact research;
3) into the history of science and cultural history of climate.More information:
